John Townsend has been in the Lafayette community for over 30 years.  After graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School, John enlisted in the Marines and served a 4-year stint in Beaufort, SC.  He returned home to Lafayette in 1998 where he serves on the Lafayette Police Department.  

John has been married for over 25 years to his high school sweetheart and they have raised 6 children.
